Mbc002@marietta.eduAs spring break rapidly approaches students discuss their plans for their week off. Some talk about relaxing at home, or tanning at the beach, while some student athletes converse about practicing for their spring sports.

Marietta College's spring sports seasons are in full swing with their practicing schedules, and the upcoming spring break doesn't seem to put a stop to a few sports' itineraries. The baseball team will practice and play in both Memphis, Tenn., and in Texas. The Rowing team will also be traveling and plans to race in Tampa, Fla. over the break.

The girl's softball team will join the rowing team in their journey to Florida, but will be playing in Kissimmee. The team leaves Marietta Friday night for the 18-hour bus ride. The team will practice and play a total of 10 games while they're in Kissimmee.

Sophomore Ashley Eberhardt says that, "the trip is an extremely fun bonding time, especially the 36 hours on the bus. I along with the rest of the team am excited to get there."

The team will have one day off from playing, where they will be able to hang out and have some free time down south.

The track and field team will also be traveling south, but they will make their final stop at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina. The team will practice and enjoy Myrtle Beach all week, and then compete in meets on both Friday and Saturday.

Junior Josh Mickle has been on this type of spring break before and is excited to go again this year. "It's a good time to get to know the rest of the team, especially the freshmen, and I'm looking forward to getting out of Marietta for a while."

Wherever the teams may be going, they will be positively bonding, and growing as a team as a whole. To check out the teams as they return from their trips and start their seasons or for more information, check out their schedules at http://pioneers.marietta.edu.
