As we finally hop into Spring after a cold Winter, Marietta is ready with more events open to the public. This year, we’ll see the return of several monthly and annual events as well as some new ones.

First on the list is the March edition of the monthly Cash Mob on Tuesday the 19th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cash Mob events feature a different local store each month, where participants are encouraged to spend $10 or more at the store. The fun part is that the store is not revealed until you meet for the event! The participant that correctly guesses the store based on some hints gets a special prize, but all participants get something free! These free prizes range from goodie bags to discounts and so much more. This event helps local businesses and helps meet new people in the community. If you want to participate, they are meeting at the Gateway Memorial Park on Butler Street.

Next up, the Spring Shop Hop will bring discounts to participating local stores, Spring themed menu items at restaurants, and a grand prize raffle to the area. Although the participating stores are not announced, balloons will be placed outside participating stores the day of the event. Each location will give an entry to the raffle. The event is planned for Saturday March 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Saturday after that, the 30th, the Boys and Girls Club will hold its annual dinner and auction at the Marietta College DBRC (Dyson Baudo Recreation Center) starting at 5:30 p.m. The buffet-style dinner starts at 6:30. Tickets are $50, which includes access to dinner, games, raffles, an auction, and more. This is the premier fund-raising event for the Boys and Girl Club of the area so be sure to attend!

Some other events in March include Bunny Brunches at the The Galley on Saturday March 30th at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Easter Brunch at Major/Riviera, various band concerts at the Adelphia and People’s Bank Theatre such as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others. Look forward to more events in downtown Marietta in April such as Marietta’s birthday!
