Another semester is wrapping up and with that comes a whole batch of new members to welcomed into the Long Blue Line. Undergraduate seniors who plan to walk in the May or August 2026 commencements or welcomed to join a series of festivities hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA).
These festivities kick off next week as on Tuesday April 28th SGA will partner with the Pioneer Activity Council (PAC) for Senior Bingo. This will take place in the Gathering Place and will be free for all seniors to have a chance to win some amazing prizes.
On Thursday April 30th, SGA will host a Valley Gem Boat Ride. Seniors are expected to arrive for 8:00 p.m. at 531 Front Street with free parking available under the Washington Street Bridge. This event is free with a cash bar on board the boat. Boarding begins after 8:00 p.m. with departure at 8:30 p.m.
On the Harrison Lawn there will be a senior picnic and forbidden tours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday May 2nd. This picnic will have food trucks, Parkhurst catering, music, and lawn games. The forbidden tours will meet at the Harrisson Lawn and take seniors to places normally locked for students on campus. Senior T-Shirts will be available for pickup at this event if a preorder was placed.
Last but not least is the Senior Bar Crawl on Thursday May 7th. Additional details will be sent by Bryce Moyers (bgm001@marietta.edu) to all seniors Marietta College emails at a later date.

On Saturday May 9th from 10:30 a.m. to11:30 a.m. graduating seniors, their family members, guests, and Marietta College faculty and staff are invited to attend a special pre-Commencement brunch. This event is organized by the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Marietta College Alumni Association Council. This time-honored event will take place in Dyson Baudo Recreation Center’s Fenton Court. Graduates, their families, and MC employees are asked to register by April 30th. As for the commencement ceremony Marietta College will celebrate the Class of 2026 starting at 1:00 p.m., May 9th, in the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Doors will open to the public at 11:00 a.m. Graduating students and families are encouraged but not required to attend The Long Blue Line Brunch before the ceremony. Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony but seating will be first come first served.
The ceremony will be live streamed for those who cannot attend. A link will be provided at www.marietta.edu/commencement prior to May 9th.
